This checklist gives you an easy way to remember the most important things to prepare before you lodge your Essential Skills Work Visa application with Immigration New Zealand.
- Copy of the photo page of your passport
- Passport sized photo of your head and shoulders (against a plain background, no smiling)
- Your phone number and email Address
- Your address in New Zealand
- Your address in your home country
- Evidence that your job has been advertised on a national platform such as Trademe/Indeed/Seek (not required if you are staying in the same role, with the same employer)
- A screening report showing why the applicants to the advertising were unsuccessful (not required if you are staying in the same role, with the same employer)
- Your employment contract (not required if you are staying in the same role, with the same employer)
- Your job/position description (not required if you are staying in the same role, with the same employer)
- Evidence of your work experience (CV/visas/employer reference letters/pay slips/tax records) (not required if you are staying in the same role, with the same employer)
- Evidence of your academic/trades qualifications (not required if you are staying in the same role, with the same employer)
- The ANZSCO code for your occupation
- Confirm whether you have any health or character issues
- Medical and chest X-Ray certificates (if not previously provided to INZ with an application in the past 36 months) (not required if you are staying in the same role, with the same employer)
- Police clearance certificate/s from your country of citizenship AND any country you have lived in for more than 5 years since turning the age of 17 (if not previously provided to INZ with an application in the past 24 months) (not required if you are staying in the same role, with the same employer)
- INZ 1113 employer supplementary form completed by your employer
- INZ 1225 work visa declaration form (when you are using the services of a licensed immigration adviser/lawyer)
