Kia ora! My name is Bevan Matiu O’Connor
I am the proud owner of VisaMaxNZ. I’m of Nga Puhi descent, and I was born and raised in the beautiful river city of Whanganui.
Growing up, my parents instilled in me a strong work ethic and a deep sense of pride in our country. My mother served in the Airforce and later as a Corrections Officer, while my father was an Army veteran who served in Vietnam and later worked in Corrections too. Following in their footsteps of service to others, I have dedicated my entire career to the Immigration industry - helping migrants from all over the world make New Zealand their home.
I attended Otago University, where I earned a law degree in 2006. Since then, I have gained extensive experience working for Immigration NZ as a Visa Officer, as an Immigration Lawyer in private practice, and now as a Licensed Immigration Adviser. In 2020, I founded VisaMaxNZ with the aim of providing fair fees for our high-level expertise in immigration advice, something that is often not available to migrants.
The name VisaMaxNZ was inspired by my dog Max, who embodies the traits of loyalty, tenacity, and dedication we give to our clients. Just as Max has always been there for me, I am dedicated to being there for my clients every step of the way.
Our team is multicultural and diverse, with staff across New Zealand and the Philippines. We even have staff who are digital nomads, working while travelling the world. We are proud to be a family-friendly business, with my partner, step-daughter, and some of my best friends working alongside me.
In addition to our work helping migrants navigate the often-complicated immigration system, we also give back to the community. I have volunteered at the Citizens Advice Bureau and the Community Law Centre, and have served as a member of the Immigration Law Committee. We offer free and pro bono work to those who need it most, and our efforts have not gone unnoticed, as we have over 100 five-star Google reviews.
When I'm not working, I love to travel and have visited over 30 countries. In my free time, I enjoy playing chess, as well as pursuing my passions for music, creating digital art, yoga, and meditation. I keep fit by walking my dogs and exploring beautiful places in New Zealand.
At VisaMaxNZ, we believe that our passion for immigration and dedication to our clients sets us apart. We are here to help you achieve your visa goals and make your transition to life in New Zealand as smooth as possible.
